Top Three Research Questions on Biodiversity Solutions and Sustainable Coexistence of People and Nature
1. Examining the effects of this ever-expanding human activity on global biodiversity, with emphases on the behavioural responses of animals to human presence.
2. The effects of anthropogenic disturbance on predator-prey and other species interactions.
3. The socio-ecological dynamics of conservation and coexistence.
Bio
Kaitlyn Gaynor is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Zoology and Botany at the University of British Columbia. In her research, Kaitlyn examines the effects of human activity on global biodiversity through the lenses of applied behavioural and community ecology. She is currently interested in the behavioural responses of animals to human presence, the effects of anthropogenic disturbance on predator-prey interactions, and the socio-ecological dynamics of human-wildlife coexistence. This work involves large-scale data synthesis and meta-analyses, and local field studies in North America, Africa, and Asia.
