About

Risa Sargent is an Associate Professor in the Plant Science program in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems. Her research focuses on the ecology and evolution of interactions between plants and their pollinators, especially wild bees. There is growing concern that human disturbance, climate change, agriculture and invasive species are endangering the intricate relationships between plants and pollinators, which has worrying implications for native plant communities and agricultural production. Our research examines both the implications of these disturbances for plant-pollinator networks and how management and policy changes can help mitigate their impacts.
