About
Dr. Joséphine Gantois is a member of our hiring cluster, for the joint position at IRES and LFS on Human Dimensions of Biodiversity Conservation. Her research is motivated by the need to better understand the ecological footprint of humans in natural and agricultural landscapes. She is particularly interested in (1) evaluating practical solutions to reconcile private land use incentives and conservation goals in agricultural areas; (2) monitoring biodiversity outcomes and ecosystem functions at large spatio-temporal scales; and (3) estimating the causal impact of land use choices and conservation policies on biodiversity. Research in her group spans environmental economics, ecology, applied sociology and data science and draws from both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
