Funding and Support
CCL fellowships provide supplemental funding to support student participation:
- MSc fellows: $7,500 per year (2 years)*
- PhD fellows: $15,000 per year (2 years)*
* Fellowship funding continuation from year 1 to year 2 will be dependent upon the student’s participation and progress made in fulfilling CCL’s requirements.
Students will also receive a one-time travel fund (for travel to research sites or to work with partners):
- MSc Fellows: $750
- PhD Fellows: $1500
Student Eligibility
To be eligible, students should be working or planning a conservation related topic with the potential to engage a non-academic partner on a component of their thesis research. Students may be in the first or second year of a Masters or the first through fourth year of doctoral studies (i.e. pre or post candidacy).
Who Should Apply
CCL encourages applications from graduate students who:
- Are working (or plan to work) on conservation related research with a non-academic partner*
- Are interested in partner engaged, applied research
- Value collaboration, inclusion, and ethical engagement
- Bring diverse academic backgrounds, lived experiences, and ways of knowing
* CCL does not facilitate the internship with partners. It is the responsibility of students and their supervisor(s) to identify and engage with partners.
