Perennial and Ecosystem Restoration for Carbon Sequestration (PERCS)

Working in British Columbia and Ontario, this research cluster is investigating how to reconcile agriculture practices with biodiversity conservation.
The researchers are focused on the ecological impacts of diversification practices on biodiversity, ecosystem services and agricultural sustainability; the factors affecting adoption of these practices; and restoring riverine habitats to enhance wildlife movement through agricultural landscapes and culturally significant species for Indigenous peoples.

GMO Effects on Biodiversity

In this project, researchers examine the impact of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) on both the environment and human welfare. It specifically considers the effects of pest-resistant and herbicide-tolerant GMO traits on biodiversity and farming practices.
